[Iranian Foreign Ministry: Memorandum of Understanding with the US Has Entered a "Crisis" Phase] On July 13 local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghae stated that the memorandum of understanding with the United States "has undoubtedly entered a crisis phase." Baghae stated that as long as the US continues to violate its commitments, Iran will not abide by the memorandum of understanding. Baghae also stated that Iran only consulted with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz issue in Muscat and did not plan to discuss other issues. Baghae stated that Iran was negotiating with Oman to establish a mechanism to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
