[German Stocks Fall Early in the Week Amid Geopolitical Tensions and Tech Stock Pressure] ⑴ The German DAX 40 index edged lower on Monday to around 25,000 points, as geopolitical tensions returned to market focus following the latest escalation of tensions between the US and Iran over the weekend. ⑵ A new round of hostilities has disrupted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, pushing up oil prices and raising concerns about rising inflationary pressures and further monetary tightening. ⑶ Investors remained cautious ahead of earnings reports from major US banks; the technology sector came under renewed pressure, with Infineon leading the decline with a drop of over 2%, while construction company Hochtief and energy technology group Siemens Energy fell 1.8% and 0.3% respectively.
