Societe Generale's interest rate strategists have advised gradually building long positions in 2- to 5-year US Treasury bonds, arguing that "short-term yields are near their year-to-date highs, and holding yields remain attractive." This comes after last week's breakdown in ceasefire negotiations between the US and Iran triggered another surge in oil prices, pushing 2- to 5-year US Treasury yields to their highest level since 2026 on Monday.
