[Ember: Solar Power Accounts for 25% of EU Electricity Generation in June, Surpassing Nuclear and Natural Gas for the First Time] ⑴ Ember research shows that in June, a quarter of the EU's electricity generation came from solar power, setting a new monthly record for this renewable energy source. For the first time, solar power became the largest single source of electricity that month, surpassing nuclear and natural gas. ⑵ As EU member states accelerate the installation of solar panels, the share of solar power has increased significantly from just 10% in the same period five years ago. ⑶ Ember added that in Spain, a leading country in Europe for solar and renewable energy development, solar power accounted for more than one-third of the country's electricity supply last month.
