Meanwhile, one dollar was worth 162.20 yen, down from 162.36 yen; one dollar was worth 0.8092 Swiss francs, down from 0.8141 Swiss francs; one dollar was worth 1.4067 Canadian dollars, down from 1.4151 Canadian dollars; and one dollar was worth 9.6586 Swedish krona, also lower than 9.7079 Swedish krona. The weakening of the US dollar index reflects a decline in the purchasing power of the dollar relative to a basket of major currencies in the foreign exchange market that day, with non-US currencies generally experiencing varying degrees of appreciation.
