[Trust in US Institutions Plummets, Trump's Approval Rating Remains Low] (1) A recent Gallup poll shows that the average confidence of the American public in 14 core institutions is only 27%, down 1 percentage point from last year and only 1 percentage point higher than the historical low in 2023, nearing its lowest point. (2) Among the seven public and seven private institutions surveyed, the military had the highest trust rating (61%), followed by the police, churches/religious organizations, banks, and the healthcare system, but none of them received more than half the trust. Trust ratings for Congress (9%) and the presidency (27%) were extremely low, only slightly higher than their respective lowest records set in June 2022. (3) Meanwhile, Trump's second term has entered its 18th month, and his approval rating has consistently remained below 50%. As of Tuesday, the Decision Desk HQ rolling average showed a support rate of 42.5% and a dissent rate of 54.9%. It has fallen below 40% multiple times since the end of March and has never exceeded 45% since October 2025, although it has recently rebounded slightly from a low of 39% on June 20.
