[National Bureau of Statistics: Summer Grain Harvest Increased, Livestock Industry Grows Steadily] In the first half of the year, the added value of agriculture (crop farming) increased by 3.6% year-on-year. The total national summer grain output reached 150.75 million tons, an increase of 1 million tons, or 0.7%, compared to the previous year. In the first half of the year, the output of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry reached 50.5 million tons, an increase of 4.3% year-on-year. Among them, pork and poultry output increased by 3.3% and 9.4% respectively, while beef and mutton output decreased by 1.0% and 3.9% respectively; milk output increased by 2.4%, while egg production decreased by 2.2%. At the end of the second quarter, the number of live pigs in stock was 424.91 million, an increase of 0.1% year-on-year; in the first half of the year, the number of live pigs slaughtered was 372.46 million, an increase of 1.7%.
