[Norway's Trade Surplus Widens to 61.9 Billion Kroner in June, Exports Rise 12.5%] ⑴ Norway's trade surplus widened to 61.9 billion kroner in June from 46.9 billion kroner in the same period last year, with export growth far exceeding import growth. ⑵ Exports increased by 12.5% year-on-year to 158.3 billion kroner, with growth in fuel lubricants and related materials (+24.8%), raw materials excluding fuel (+17.3%), animal and vegetable oils and waxes (+48.7%), and food and livestock (+7.1%) offsetting declines in beverages and tobacco (-14.6%), chemical products (-0.2%), and transport machinery (-23.1%). ⑶ Imports increased by 2.7% to 96.4 billion kroner, mainly driven by increased purchases of raw materials excluding fuel (+20.9%), fuel lubricants and related materials (+53.9%), and animal and vegetable oils and waxes (+8.4%). (4) In the first half of this year, Norway’s trade surplus was 419.9 billion kronor, up 11.3% year-on-year, with exports growing by 5.7%, far faster than imports’ 1.8%.
