[Belgium's Trade Surplus Widens Significantly to €4.27 Billion in May] ⑴ Belgium's trade surplus widened significantly to €4.27 billion in May from €1.91 billion in the same period last year. ⑵ Exports rose 4.2% to €43.46 billion, with exports to EU member states increasing by 3.6% and exports to non-EU countries by 5.5%. ⑶ Imports fell 1.5% to €39.19 billion, with imports from non-EU countries declining by 8.4%, offsetting the 2.7% increase in imports from EU member states. ⑷ In the first five months of this year, the trade surplus widened significantly to €14.8 billion from €8.75 billion in the same period last year.
