[US Embassy in Lebanon: Agreement Reached Between Lebanon and Israel on Pilot Zone to Be Implemented in Days] The US Embassy in Lebanon announced on the afternoon of the 15th local time that Lebanon and Israel concluded talks after two days of "productive and positive discussions," reaching an agreement on the structure and operating guidelines of the proposed pilot zone. In a statement, the US Embassy said that the final procedural steps are nearing completion and implementation is expected to begin in the coming days. The embassy added that the next phase will expand the scope of technical talks, focusing on implementing all provisions of the trilateral framework to reach a comprehensive agreement between Lebanon and Israel. On the 14th local time, Israel and Lebanon began their sixth round of negotiations in Rome, Italy. This round of negotiations lasted two days. The focus of this round of negotiations was a pilot program, namely, discussing the specific implementation plan for the initial withdrawal of Israeli troops from two pilot areas in southern Lebanon.
