When discussing the issue of Iran, US Vice President Vance stated that if the Iranian people want to rise up and overthrow the current government, that is their own choice. However, the US will not deploy 150,000 ground troops to promote regime change unless the local population themselves actively desires this outcome. Ultimately, the US will not send troops; advocating for troop deployment is essentially asking the US military to do this for the Iranian people.
