[National Healthcare Security Administration: Basic Medical Insurance Enrollment Rate Remains at 95% in 2025] The National Healthcare Security Administration today released the "Statistical Bulletin on the Development of Healthcare Security in 2025." The bulletin shows that by the end of 2025, 1.331 billion people nationwide were enrolled in basic medical insurance, maintaining an enrollment rate of 95%. The national basic medical insurance pooled fund had a current balance of 525.772 billion yuan in 2025, with overall stable fund operation. By the end of 2025, 388.5612 million people were enrolled in employee medical insurance, an increase of 9.0778 million from the previous year, representing a growth of 2.4%. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the number of employees enrolled in employee medical insurance increased by an average of 8.8 million annually. In 2025, 69.82 million self-employed individuals and other personnel participated in employee medical insurance, an increase of over 20 million compared to the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
