(2) At the meeting, Greece explicitly opposed the clause in the sanctions prohibiting the transshipment of Russian liquefied natural gas to third countries, saying that the ban would "destroy" its domestic shipping company, Dynagas; the company specializes in transporting LNG from the Yamal LNG plant in the Arctic, and its tankers are custom-built for the project and cannot be used for other purposes, and have been forced to be sold, each costing about $300 million. (3) According to sources, the Greek representative emphasized that the company would suffer a devastating blow as a result, and resolutely resisted the relevant sanctions on this basis.
