A Bank of Japan quarterly survey in June showed that 90.4% of Japanese households expect prices to rise in one year, up from 83.7% in the previous survey. Households expect the inflation rate to rise by an average of 13.1% in one year, with a median of 10.0%. 86.1% of Japanese households expect prices to rise in five years, up from 82.6% in the previous survey. Households expect the inflation rate to rise by an average of 10.8% in five years, with a median of 5.0%.
