[Turkey's June Budget Surplus Reaches 114.2 Billion Lira, Tax Revenue Surges 72%] ⑴ Turkey's central government budget turned from a deficit of 330.2 billion lira in the same period last year to a surplus of 114.2 billion lira in June. ⑵ Budget revenue increased by 66.0% year-on-year to 1.5 trillion lira, with tax revenue surging by 72.0% to 1.3 trillion lira, reflecting strong performance in income tax, domestic VAT, import VAT, and special consumption tax. ⑶ Total expenditure increased by 12.6% to 1.4 trillion lira, driven by increased personnel spending, procurement of goods and services, and recurring transfers; non-interest expenditure increased by 23.9% to 1.2 trillion lira, while interest expenditure decreased by 26.9% to 201.6 billion lira. ⑷ The primary budget balance turned from a deficit of 54.5 billion lira in the same period last year to a surplus of 315.8 billion lira.
