[Poland plans to conscript nearly 250,000 people for military service registration in 2027] (1) A draft decree from the Polish Ministry of Defense stipulates that approximately 245,000 citizens will be conscripted for military service registration in 2027, mainly including physical examinations and eligibility assessments. (2) Poland suspended conscription in 2009, but in recent years has continued to implement a "military service eligibility assessment" mechanism, requiring potential conscripts to complete registration and health checks. (3) According to the draft plan, the assessments next year will last from early February to the end of April, mainly targeting men born in 2008, while also covering women born between 2000 and 2008 with specific professional or related educational backgrounds. After the assessments, the relevant personnel will be granted the rank of private and transferred to the passive reserve.
