[State Administration of Foreign Exchange: Net Foreign Investment in China Increased by Approximately US$160 Billion in the First Five Months] Zhao Yuchao, head of the Balance of Payments Department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that net foreign investment in China increased by approximately US$160 billion in the first five months, significantly better than the same period last year. This includes direct investment, securities investment, as well as foreign deposits and loans absorbed by my country. In terms of direct investment, net foreign equity investment in China increased by more than US$50 billion in the first five months, with the amount of new capital remaining stable.
