[Railway Department Pilots 60-Day Advance Ticket Booking Service] The Passenger Transport Center of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. announced that starting July 20, the railway department will pilot a new train ticket booking service on over 200 trains on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway. Passengers can submit their booking requests through the "Ticket Booking" section of the 12306 mobile app, submitting their requests 60 to 17 days before train departure. The 12306 system will fulfill the bookings 20 to 16 days before departure. A transition period from July 20 to August 29 will allow bookings for trains departing on or after September 15. From August 30 onwards, bookings for trains 60 to 17 days in advance will be a regular service. A spokesperson for the Passenger Transport Center explained that the train ticket booking service refers to the railway department's proactive approach to understanding passenger demand before the official ticket sales period begins, coordinating transport capacity and ticket resources, and providing feedback on the fulfillment of bookings within a specified timeframe.
