This statement aims to clarify the FTC's framework for assessing the accuracy of AI systems and to promote the establishment of workable accountability mechanisms by agencies when using AI and automated systems. The public comment period is 60 days. 2. Simultaneously, the FTC announced a settlement with Amazon, with the latter agreeing to pay $2.25 million to settle a allegations that its online recruitment process, between 2021 and 2023, failed to promptly remove job seekers' credit report information after human review was terminated, allegedly willfully violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This settlement is one of the largest credit reporting violation fines in FTC history.
