[Italy's Current Account Surplus Narrows Sharply to €594 Million in May, with Both Goods and Services Declining] ⑴ Italy's current account surplus narrowed to €593.9 million in May, significantly lower than the €1.9069 billion in the same period last year, marking the smallest surplus since January. The goods surplus decreased from €6.1715 billion to €5.2244 billion, while the services balance shifted from a surplus of €173.9 million in the same period last year to a deficit of €118.2 million. ⑵ The primary income deficit widened to €4.0344 billion from €3.7467 billion, while the secondary income deficit narrowed to €477.9 million from €691.8 million.
