European natural gas futures rose over 19% this week. On Friday, July 17th, in late European trading, ICE UK natural gas futures rose 5.58% to close at 140.170 pence/kcal. This commodity has been on a continuous upward trend since June 25th, and the current price is approaching the previous high of 141.22 pence on March 27th and the high of 165.50 pence on March 19th, with an overall weekly gain of 19.61%. TTF benchmark Dutch natural gas futures also rose, gaining 5.01% to €57.935/MWh. From the closing price of €40.405 on June 25th, this commodity has also experienced a continuous rebound and is currently approaching the high of €72 on March 19th, with a weekly gain of 19.76%. In addition, ICE EU carbon emissions trading permit futures rose 0.53% to €79.09/ton, with a weekly gain of 0.50%. The recent sharp rebound in natural gas prices also reflects the continued supply and demand volatility risks in the European energy market, with market attention remaining high on the stability of future energy supply.
