According to market sources, the Central Bank of Cuba has officially issued new banknotes with denominations of 2,000 and 5,000 pesos. The introduction of these high-denomination banknotes is a monetary adjustment measure implemented by the Central Bank of Cuba based on the actual needs of local currency circulation and in line with the current economic situation. These two new denominations will subsequently share payment and circulation functions with other existing peso banknotes in the Cuban market.
