[News: US Planning to Establish FINRA-like Regulatory Agency to Review Leading AI Models] According to media reports, after Silicon Valley industry leaders criticized the recent US measures to delay the rollout of cutting-edge AI systems as too arbitrary, the Trump administration is studying a plan to establish an independent regulatory agency, with the participation of industry stakeholders, to verify the safety and performance of artificial intelligence models. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant was involved in promoting the drafting of this proposal. The proposal intends to establish an independent AI regulatory agency accountable to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), modeled after the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). An unnamed source familiar with the matter revealed that the plan is currently being reviewed and evaluated by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
