At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held on July 18, KPMG officially released a research report titled "Crossing the Singularity: How World Models Are Reshaping the New Paradigm of Embodied Intelligence Industry and Business." The report points out that while a unified, universal definition of world models has not yet been established, the industry has gradually reached a consensus on their capability boundaries: the core is the ability to learn the operating rules of the environment, predict future state changes, and deduce the subsequent impact of actions, providing support for the planning and decision-making processes of intelligent agents. The report also mentions that future competition in the field of world models will be more diversified, no longer focusing solely on the scale of model parameters and the effectiveness of generated content. Data processing pipelines, simulation environments, capability evaluation frameworks, training tool systems, and related interface standards will all become core areas of competition.
