Sagawa Express, a leading Japanese logistics company, confirmed on the 18th that an operational oversight during the repair of a system malfunction resulted in the leakage of information related to nearly 70,000 users of its membership service. According to Sagawa Express's official statement, a configuration error by staff during system repair led to the leakage of user names, email addresses, and package tracking numbers for its "Smart Club" membership service on the night of the 15th. The "Smart Club" service primarily sends users estimated delivery reminders and allows members to adjust and set delivery dates and times. Sagawa Express stated that the leaked information did not include users' credit card information or residential addresses, and they have not yet received any reports of misuse of the leaked data.
