[World Taekwondo Federation Lifts Ban, Allowing International Competitions in Russia] On September 15th local time, the Russian Taekwondo Federation announced that a resolution passed at a special council meeting of the World Taekwondo Federation held in Chuncheon, South Korea, allowing international competitions to be held in Russia. In January of this year, the World Taekwondo Federation had already allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions without restrictions, including the use of their national flags and anthems. At that time, the federation had stated that international sporting events still could not be held in Russia, and that certification would not be issued to Russian and Belarusian government officials.
