[Peskov's Statement on Energy Market, Tanker Security, and Demilitarization of Space] (1) Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that ensuring the safe operation of refineries and increasing petroleum product production cannot solve the global market problem; the main problem lies in the transportation of petroleum products. (2) He stated that an energy truce with Ukraine would enable Russia to meet its domestic market demand with petroleum products, but Russia already has the capacity to stabilize the market. (3) He stated that Ukraine is not inclined to guarantee the security of tankers; not only Russian ships but also ships from other countries are affected. (4) He emphasized that sanctions must be lifted in order to meet the global energy market demand with fuel. (5) He also stated that Russia expects the international community to reach a broad consensus on the complete demilitarization of space: "Space must be free of any weapons."
