[2026 SCO Digital Economy Forum Opens, Cooperation List Covers Over Ten Areas] The 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Digital Economy Forum opened today in Urumqi, Xinjiang. The forum, themed "Connecting the SCO with Data, Shaping the Future with Intelligence," aimed to promote practical cooperation in the digital economy among all parties. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on digital connectivity, digital trade, digital intelligence industries, digital governance, and capacity building. The forum jointly formulated the "SCO Digital Economy Key Cooperation Items and Intentions List (2026-2027)," covering over ten areas including digital infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transportation and logistics, disaster prevention and mitigation, education and healthcare, and capacity building, resulting in nearly 20 cooperation intentions. This list provides guidance for member states to achieve precise matching of supply and demand. SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sohail Khan stated that global trade is fraught with uncertainty due to the international situation.
