[Thousands of Remains Buried in Gaza; Israel Accused of Obstructing Excavation and Identification] Ajit Sungai, the UN's human rights officer in the occupied Palestinian territories, stated on the 15th that about half of the remains unearthed this month from the ruins of Gaza City belonged to women and children. It is estimated that at least 8,000 bodies remain buried under rubble across Gaza, and a complete excavation could take more than ten years.
