[Ukraine's 2027 Budget Draft: Defense Spending to Reach $109 Billion] ⑴ Roxolana Pidrasa, Chairwoman of the Budget Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament, stated on Facebook that the Ukrainian Cabinet has submitted a draft national budget for 2027, with defense and security spending reaching 4.89 trillion hryvnia (approximately $109 billion). ⑵ Pidrasa stated that this amount represents a 12% increase compared to 2026 spending levels. She added that security and defense spending accounts for 66.8% of total budget expenditure. ⑶ Pidrasa stated that approximately 36% of defense spending will be covered by European arms-related funds. ⑷ According to estimates by the Ukrainian Cabinet, the total budget deficit is projected to be 4.3 trillion hryvnia (approximately $96 billion), equivalent to 44% of the country's GDP.
