[Bahrain Aluminum Production Recovers to About 80% of Pre-War Levels, Exporting Through Alternative Ports] ⑴ Bahrain Aluminum CEO Ali Al Baqali stated on Wednesday that the company's current aluminum production is approximately 80% of pre-war levels, exported through Saudi Arabia's Red Sea port of Jeddah and Oman's port of Sohar. ⑵ Bahrain Aluminum claims to be the world's largest single aluminum smelter. ⑶ Following the outbreak of war, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz disrupted supply chains, forcing the shutdown of its production lines 1, 2, and 3. ⑷ Subsequently, the plant was attacked by Iranian airstrikes at the end of March, which Al Baqali described as "a small, minor attack." ⑸ Al Baqali stated that the company suffered losses but has since repaired them. ⑹ He stated that the company is currently operating production lines 4, 5, and 6 of the smelter, with an annual capacity equivalent to 1.3 million tons. ⑺ Before the outbreak of the Iranian war, the company's capacity was approximately 1.6 million tons per year.
