[Palm Oil Trading Remains Sluggish, Daily Volume Drops to Zero Again] ⑴ Overall, trading of 24-degree palm oil at ports nationwide remained weak, with volume dropping to zero on September 16th, indicating a near standstill in the market. ⑵ Trading volume reached approximately 600 tons on September 15th, more than doubling compared to the previous week, but the absolute volume remained low. Trading volume on September 14th was only about 300 tons, a 50% drop compared to the previous week. ⑶ Trading volume reached approximately 500 tons on September 10th and rose slightly to about 600 tons on September 11th, but the daily increase was limited and failed to generate sustained volume. ⑷ Compared to the previous week's average daily trading volume of approximately 400 tons, this week's trading level was roughly the same, showing no significant improvement. ⑸ Trading volume has remained hovering at several hundred tons for an extended period, reflecting that downstream purchases are mainly small, immediate orders, and traders and end-users have a weak willingness to build up inventory. ⑹ Going forward, attention should be paid to changes in port inventory, import profit margins, and the price spread between soybean and palm oil, as these factors may influence whether palm oil spot trading can recover.
