[Institution: Uncertain Interest Rate Outlook to be a Reason to Buy Short-Term Bonds] Diamond Hill analyst Henry Song stated that uncertainty in the bond market requires investors to allocate funds to short-term assets with attractive yields. He expects today's Fed decision to have little impact on war-induced inflation, thus the outlook remains uncertain. Song also pointed out that Treasury Secretary Bessant's efforts to control long-term yields are futile because the market "has seen through his bluff." Song's strategy is to buy "a large amount of currently very high-yielding short-term assets" and remain flexible. If interest rates do rise, he can redeploy funds when bonds mature.
