[Tightening Dot Plot Suggests More Rate Hikes] As in June, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh did not submit his own points to the Fed's forward-looking September dot plot. However, the remaining 18 points for 2026 signal a tightening stance. With the exception of two officials, all believe today's rate hike will not be the last. Twelve officials expect one more rate hike before the end of the year, and four expect two more. Therefore, for the vast majority of Fed officials, the current assumption is that today's rate hike is not a one-off event.
