India has lowered its windfall profits tax on aviation turbine fuel exports, effective September 16th. The tax rate has been reduced from 19 rupees per liter to 15 rupees per liter. Simultaneously, the windfall profits tax on gasoline exports has also been reduced, also effective September 16th, from 1.5 rupees per liter to 0.5 rupees per liter. This adjustment to the windfall profits tax is the latest dynamic adjustment made by India to taxes and fees related to refined petroleum product exports, and the relevant tax burden on related refined petroleum product exporting companies will be reduced as a result.
