[National Energy Administration Official Meets with ASEAN Secretary-General] On September 16, Wang Hongzhi, Director of the National Energy Administration of China (NEA), met with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hong in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on China-ASEAN clean energy cooperation and the establishment of energy cooperation mechanisms. Wang Hongzhi stated that China-ASEAN energy cooperation is deepening, the "China-ASEAN Clean Energy Cooperation Center" has been established and is playing an important role, and the China-ASEAN Energy Ministerial Meeting mechanism is progressing steadily. China is willing to further strengthen exchanges with ASEAN and jointly promote new and more practical achievements in energy cooperation. Kao Kim Hong stated that energy is a priority area for deepening cooperation between ASEAN and China. In recent years, ASEAN's energy demand has grown rapidly, and he hopes to continuously strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as clean energy and energy supply, including mechanism building, technology exchange, experience sharing, and joint research. Wang Qing, Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, attended the meeting. Key officials from the Electricity Department and International Department of the NEA also participated in the meeting.
