[Russia Launches Soyuz-2.1b Launch Vehicle] CCTV reporters learned on the 18th local time that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the successful launch of a Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle carrying a military satellite from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwestern Russia. The launch reportedly proceeded as planned, and the satellite was placed into orbit at the scheduled time and is now under control from ground equipment of the Russian Aerospace Forces. (CCTV)
