The International Monetary Fund (IMF) stated that its staff has conducted discussions and assessments with Mozambican officials regarding the recent economic development situation. While Mozambique has been continuously implementing fiscal consolidation measures, it still faces significant fiscal and external balance of payments pressures. Fortunately, inflation has remained within a manageable range. Moving forward, the country needs to push for deeper reforms to address debt sustainability, resolve external balance of payments imbalances, and facilitate stronger, more resilient economic growth.
