According to the Commitment of Traders (COT) report from the Intercontinental Exchange's Euronext futures exchange, as of the week ending September 15, speculative participants in the sugar market increased their net long positions by 2,343 contracts, bringing the total to 65,031 contracts. Speculators in Robusta coffee reduced their net long positions by 2,591 contracts, bringing the current net long position back to 6,917 contracts. Speculators in the cocoa category reduced their net short positions by 1,636 contracts, bringing the current net short position to 3,481 contracts. Speculative net long positions in feed wheat increased slightly by 49 contracts, with the latest position at 517 contracts. This type of COT (Commodity Futures Trading) data can usually reflect the sentiment of short-term speculative funds in the agricultural futures market. An increase in net long positions often corresponds to the speculative group's expectation of a subsequent price increase for related commodities, while a decrease in net long positions and a reduction in net short positions correspond to a cooling of bullish sentiment and a easing of bearish sentiment, respectively. It is one of the important reference indicators for market participants to judge the short-term trend of commodities.
