[Shenzhen Airport Sees Record Highs in Cargo and Passenger Traffic as APEC Member Economies See Increased Traffic] This year is the "APEC China Year." As of early September, both cargo volume to and from other APEC member economies and passenger traffic from these economies at Shenzhen Airport have reached record highs for the same period. In the first eight months of this year, cargo volume to and from other APEC member economies at Shenzhen Airport reached 450,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%. As of early September, the number of foreign passengers entering and leaving Shenzhen Airport from APEC member economies this year exceeded 1 million, a year-on-year increase of 31.1%, both setting new records for the same period. It is understood that Shenzhen Airport, in conjunction with airlines, has launched and increased the frequency of 10 international routes to APEC member economies such as Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore.
