[Report on Practical Competency of Cybersecurity Talents—AI Empowerment Edition Released] On September 18th, at the first China Cyberspace Security Conference, the "Report on Practical Competency of Cybersecurity Talents—AI Empowerment Edition" was officially released. The report was guided by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council (Cyberspace Security Group) and the Teaching Steering Committee for Cyberspace Security Majors of Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education. Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, University of Science and Technology of China, and Yongxin Zhicheng Technology Group Co., Ltd. served as the chief editors, with participation from numerous universities, research institutions, and industry units. The report shows that current AI security talent is characterized by relatively short years of experience, relatively concentrated geographical and industry distribution, and insufficient dedicated personnel. Many organizations still rely on traditional security teams or R&D teams to handle model security work, and the teams specializing in AI security research and application security assurance still need further improvement. Regarding talent cultivation, an increasing number of universities have incorporated AI-related courses into their teaching systems. The report proposes that future cybersecurity talent cultivation and evaluation should be more closely aligned with real-world business and practical needs, defining capabilities based on actual tasks, organizing training in real-world scenarios, and evaluating talent based on task completion results. It also calls for promoting the joint participation of universities, research institutions, cybersecurity companies, and key industries in talent cultivation, training, evaluation, and utilization.
