Iran's message was clear: "If the US wants to extricate itself from the predicament it created and prevent itself from becoming increasingly entangled in these issues, it has no other option but to accept Iran's conditions." In an interview that day, Rezaei confirmed that Qatar, as a third-party mediator, had forwarded Iran's negotiating conditions to the US and was awaiting a response from US President Trump.
