On the afternoon of September 18th local time, Cao Ziyu, Party Secretary and Chairman of Hebei Port Group, led a delegation to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to meet with Juan, Global Supply Chain Director of Vale. The two sides held a working exchange meeting and jointly proposed the creation of the "Caofeidian-Tubarão Iron Ore Green Shipping Corridor." According to the proposal, both sides will work with relevant partners throughout the value chain to build a green shipping channel between Caofeidian Port and Tubarão Port. This type of channel specifically refers to shipping routes operated by low-emission or even zero-greenhouse-gas-emission vessels, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissions in shipping operations between the two ports. As a crucial global iron ore trade route, the green transformation of the Caofeidian-Tubarão route will provide a reference for the low-carbon transformation of global bulk cargo shipping, contributing to the green development of the global port and shipping industry.
