On September 20th, it was reported that Apple adjusted its long-standing fall iPhone release schedule this year, only launching the iPhone 18 Pro series and its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. The standard iPhone 18, the more affordable iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 are expected to be released in the spring of 2025. Regarding this adjustment, Gene Munster, managing partner and co-founder of Deepwater Asset Management and former analyst at Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler), commented that Apple's strategy of splitting the iPhone 18 series release schedule has proven effective. He cited data showing that the expected delivery time for the iPhone 18 Pro series on the first day of pre-orders was approximately 15% longer than the same period in 2024. Based on this performance, Munster believes that some consumers who originally intended to buy the basic iPhone model have increased their budgets to purchase the more expensive iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max models.
