[Terafab Chip Factory Under Musk Embroiled in Trademark Dispute Before Production] According to reports, the Terafab chip factory, jointly built by Elon Musk's Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI, has encountered a trademark dispute even before producing a single chip. Tesla and SpaceX recently filed a lawsuit in the Austin Federal Court, requesting the judge to determine that the name of their Terafab chip factory does not constitute trademark infringement. The dispute originated in May of this year when Tera-Print, an Illinois-based nanofabrication equipment company, sent a cease and desist letter to SpaceX and Tesla, demanding that they cease using the name Terafab. The two parties held settlement negotiations on September 2nd, and Tesla offered a corresponding settlement proposal. However, Tera-Print stated that while Tesla expressed a willingness to continue negotiations, it "preemptively filed a lawsuit in court." Tera-Print has now stated that it will resolutely defend its trademark rights, and the case has been formally transferred to the Austin Federal Court.
