[South Korean Internet Banks See 50.6% Surge in SME Loans in First Half of Year; Tighter Household Loan Regulations Drive Business Shift] (1) Financial data released Sunday by three South Korean internet banks showed that, affected by the tightening of regulations on personal and household loans, their loan volume to SME owners increased by more than 50% in the first half of this year. (2) According to the three institutions' half-year financial reports, as of the end of June, the combined outstanding balance of SME loans from K-Bank, Kakao Bank, and Toss Bank increased by 50.6% year-on-year, reaching 8.32 trillion won (approximately US$5.98 billion).
