[China's national railways transported 2.69 billion tons of freight in the first eight months of this year] It was learned on the 20th from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. that from January to August this year, the national railways transported a total of 2.69 billion tons of freight, with an average daily loading of 187,400 wagons, maintaining a high level of operation. This provided reliable transportation support for reducing logistics costs across society and ensuring the stable operation of the national economy. Since the beginning of this year, the railway sector has fully leveraged the advantages of the nationwide railway network and centralized and unified dispatching and command, increasing the transportation of coal from major coal-producing areas in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang, striving to ensure that all coal for power generation is loaded, and fully supporting various regions in meeting peak summer demand. From January to August, the national railways transported 1.389 billion tons of coal, of which 928 million tons were for power generation.
