[UN: Over 125,000 Displaced by Escalating Situation in Yemen] The situation in Yemen has escalated recently, forcing large numbers of people to flee their homes. Almen Yadgarian, UNHCR Representative in Yemen, told a CCTV reporter that in just one or two weeks, more than 125,000 people have been displaced within Yemen, with thousands more risking their lives to cross the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to reach Djibouti and other destinations. The UNHCR is appealing to the international community for more funding and support to address the growing urgent humanitarian needs. (CCTV)
