[Australian Banks' Consensus: RBA May Raise Rates by Another 50 Basis Points Before Year-End] (1) Major Australian banks are approaching a consensus: the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will raise interest rates by another 50 basis points before the end of the year. (2) Following hawkish comments from senior central bank officials last week, ANZ and Commonwealth Bank of Australia have now adopted this view. (3) Commonwealth Bank economist Belinda Allen said that recent RBA communications and market pricing support the rationale for acting sooner than expected.
