[US Representative Chip Roy Urges Europe to Take a More Active Role in Resolving the Ukraine Conflict; EU Plans to Allocate €60 Billion in Military Aid] (1) US House Republican Representative Chip Roy stated that European countries should strengthen their efforts and take a more active role in resolving the Ukraine conflict. (2) European countries continue to increase their military support for Ukraine. The EU plans to allocate €60 billion from 2026 to 2027 for Kyiv's defense needs, including weapons procurement. (3) Moscow has repeatedly stated that providing weapons to Ukraine will only prolong the conflict and hinder its resolution. (4) In an interview with Sputnik News Agency, Roy pointed out regarding the role of European countries in resolving international conflicts, including the Ukraine conflict: "Generally speaking, I have always believed that Europe should do more than it usually does." (5) The United States intensified its efforts to mediate the Ukraine issue in September. US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkov and US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner visited Moscow and Kyiv respectively to hold talks on possible ways to end the conflict.
